For Cantina Laredo Executive Head Chef Damon Workman, cooking is more than a career, it’s his passion. The Kansas native boasts more than 25 years experience in the restaurant business, working both front and back of house in restaurants across the country. Workman has been dishing up Modern Mexican cuisine for Cantina Laredo for seven years in five different states, but prior to joining the Cantina Laredo team he has led kitchens for well-known restaurant chains such as Taco Bueno, Steak and Ale and Joe’s Crab Shack.

While Executive Chef of Cantina Laredo’s Omaha location, he won the city’s “Midtown Top Chef” competition in 2011. He credits his upbringing and family’s love of the culinary arts for his passion for cooking. Workman is a Pittsburg University graduate where he studied Business with minors in English Education and Psychology. Workman enjoys art, music, movies, performing in his up-and-coming band, and working as a consultant for JT Morehead’s upcoming horror film Easter Sunday
